SUNDAY CHESS AT BUFFALO CENTRAL LIBRARY 2012

The Buffalo and Erie County Public Central Library inconjunction with The Archangel 8 Chess Academy will host "Sunday Chess" Tournaments in the Fables Cafe on the first floor, directed by Michael A. Mc Duffie, USCF Tournament Director and Chess Ambassador in downtown Buffalo, NY on the last sunday of each month until May 2012.

Chess players of all ages and levels will play 3 to 4 games, Swiss, Game 30, will start from 12:15pm until 4:30pm. Players must report by Noon, please bring chess set, chess board and digital chess clock, US Chess Federation rules will be enforced. Unrated section for players not members of the USCF, USCF Rated section and Scholastic section will be available for friendly competitive play.

Results from our first Sunday Chess event attracted over 12 players of which, 3 were females, 3 Scholastic players, 3 were USCF members and 8 were Unrated players. The January 2012 Sunday Chess undefeated Champion was Richard Hennessey, 2nd place - Kevin N. Roulhac and Glenn Conlin. Kevin Roulhac defeated James Lesniak and PUSH Buffalo, Shawn Davis. Sunday Chess Scholastic Champion was Shaka Davis, 2nd place James Shippens. Shaka Davis defeated Joseph Young and Draws Blair Johnson.

Sunday Chess 2012 Schedule will be January 29th, February 26th, March 25th, April 29th and May 27th.
