The Final Round 5 was dedicated in memory of my brother, "Pawn Master" David Wayne Mc Duffie who passed away in Baltimore, MD on Friday, August 24, 2012.
FIDE rated chess players can achieve Grand Master title without earning Norms and can participate in other sponsored tournaments internationally.
Round 5 finished with Anna Levina draws NM Barry Davis, CM Scott Riester draws NM Lionel L. Davis, Chris Bieniek defeated James P. Davis, CM Mark J. Clark defeated Charles A. Lubas and Erik W. Lubas defeated Richard W. Glew.
Our next tournament will be held on Sat Sept 22 at the 13th annual Freedom Trail Chess Festival, Earl Brydges Niagara Falls Public Library, 1425 Main Street,Niagara Falls, NY. Entry fee is $10 and players must report by 10:30am to play 4 USCF dual rated games.
The Lockport Golden Knights Chess Club meets every monday night from 6pm to 8pm at 400 Willow Street Recreation Center. Membership is required with payment to the Lockport Youth Recreation Center. Chess sets and boards are provided.
