MARCH CHESS OPEN HOUSE 2014

Hosted in a joint venture with the Buffalo Erie County Public Library and The Archangel 8 Chess Academy, celebrating over 15 years of enrichment youth chess programs in WNY!. This is a "FREE" chess event with your library card.

The Chess Open house welcomes chess players of all ages and all levels for three to four friendly matches, games of 40 minutes with 5 second delay in a Swiss format.

Date - SUNDAY, March 30, 2014

Where - Buffalo Central Library, 1st floor - Fables Cafe located at Lafayette St in downtown Buffalo NY.

Doors open at Noon, Games start at 12:15pm till 4:30pm.

Please bring chess set, chess board and digital chess clock, limited supply available.

Come out and help us celebrate Women's History Month! This special Chess event will be hosted by The Archangel 8 Chess Academy, an official affiliate of the US Chess Federation. The Archangel 8 Chess Academy is celebrating over 15 years of Educational Enrichment Youth After-School Chess programs in the WNY region.

The 2014 IRISH CLASSIC will be held at the Main Place Mall, Upper Level, 390 Main St, Buffalo, NY. Free Parking under the Mall, Boutiques, Shoppes and Food Court Open during tournament play! Each participant should bring a chess set, board and digital chess clock. Limited supply available with advance notice! Scholastic Section - Chess Equipment provided!

NEW - CASH PRIZES -$670.00! FOUR GAMES, USCF sanctioned dual rated games. USCF membership is required for the OPEN and U1600 Section, Scholastic section is non rated!

OPEN and U1600 Format - Four USCF dual rated games, Game duration is Game 50 with a 5 second delay! All players must report by 9am, Games will start at 9:15am, 11:15am, 1:15pm and 3pm. Unpaid late entries must take a one half point non playing BYE!

Early Bird advance discounted PAYMENT and online registrations with reply to KNIGHTSOF64@YAHOO.COM by midnight on Thursday, March 13th, 2014 with full name, USCF number, section and telephone. Entry fee for OPEN is $25 advance or $35 Cash only on site!

CASH PRIZES FOR OPEN section based on 18 paid players - First Place $200 - $100 - $60, Top U1900 $75. U1600 Section Cash Prizes based on 18 paid players - Entry fee is $15 or $20 Cash at the door! First Place - $130 - $60 - $30.

PAWNMASTER SCHOLASTIC (K - 9) STARS SECTION - All Scholastic players must report by 9:30am! Advance Entry Fee is $10 or $15 Cash at the door! Games will start at 10am! Format will be Four games, Chess notations may be asked during tournament play with a digital chess clock, no elimination! Games are one hour in duration and games will start at 10am, 11am, Noon and 1pm! PIZZA and REFRESHMENTS ARE PROVIDED! Students may bring a brown bag lunch/snacks and beverage! All Scholastic players are asked to wear their school shirt/colours! Group and individual photos are taken during tournament play! TOURNAMENT AWARDS CEREMONY will be after all scholastic games are completed! TROPHIES and Medals awarded!
