Annotated Games of the 2008 Mayor's Cup Winner

Another post that I will have up soon-hopefully-is IM Ken Regan's own annotation of his games from this past weekend's Buffalo Mayor's Cup and Class Championships. He has sent me the first one and I will endeavor to put it together and have it up by this weekend for our readership to enjoy and learn.

  1. You might consider using ChessFlash -- a new Flash Based Chess Viewer than can be embedded in chess blogs -- to post it. Some examples of usage are at my personal chess blog Houston Chess where I've been blogging about Chess in Houston (and the world) since 2003.

  2. I just gave it a try Glenn, but for some reason could not make it work.

You have a nice blogspot, though. Thanks for the link.

  3. It worked fine for me: here. I used the pgn file you uploaded. It looks like after you uploaded the game you did not select it / select "Send to BUEditor" -- the viewer does not have a game associated with it.

Nice game and great commentary by the way!

  4. If you try again and are able to get it to work, for this blog I would suggest a narrow, vertical layout like this one and the midnight color theme.

  5. And thanks for pointing out that it did not work for you. Based on my guess of what went wrong I was able to improve the website (the file browse dialog now does not close if it does not have a file selected).

  6. The link you gave with the game L. Davis v. K. Regan looked and worked great, but saddly I still can not figure out how to see the nice finished product on my account and then of course can not get it to be sent to the buffalochess blogspot.

  7. thechessdoctor: I see you got the first part figured out -- you published the games at chess flash.

To go the next step you need to cut-n-paste the code in the post at ChessFlash into a blogger post. Do not insert any new lines (but it will wrap to several) within that code. Depending on several factors, the blogger preview may give you a good preview of how it will look published or it may not.
