  1. I came by to give congrats, and earlier regrets at not being able to play. Besides having an NSF deadline a week from Friday, I pulled 1-1/2 all-nighters the previous weekend to submit a paper and write a 9/11-observing article on the major Math/CS weblog I assist.

At some time I will blog on my jam-packed summer. For now you can Google my name + Canadian Open to find a report I wrote for Susan Polgar's blog, "Father Robert" to find a tribute to my late father, and "Marshall Romance" to find a piece for Bill & Kate on the British Embassy website which includes how I met my wife and honors the wedding of Pope Pius XII's chief defender. And read some slides of my chess research presented at AAAI 2011 at http://www.cse.buffalo.edu/~regan/Talks/IntrinsicRatings.pdf
