World Team Championships

If you are following the World Team Championships you know that Nakamura won against Gelfand in a very nice game. There was a discussion about that game and how Nakamura played blitz and won easily. It seems to me that Nakamura knew the game Ftachnik-Cvitan which was played in 1997. Cvitan won in 26 moves by sacrificing his Queen. It was an amazing game. I saw it on one of the videos by IM Andrew Martin courtesy of Chessdoctor. In this game from the 5th round in Turkey Nakamura deviated with 20...Bf8. At this point there were also different tries such as 20...Ne8 and 20...a:b6

  1. Nice game. It made the news at many places. In 5 days, another big event, Corus 2010 starts featuring many top players.

In the game, several analysis suggest white should have taken on g2 after the knight sac.
