Special recognition and Kudos to Samuel E. Santora, a third grader from the Chess Club of Buffalo, a chess club for homeschool students, earned two points in his first outing in the U1500 section. Sam was quite the chess celebrity on friday at the Niagara University Purple Pawn chess tournament, playing against college players and a college professor, who signed up to have the chance to play against him. Sam did win a great majority of his time controlled games.
Special thanks to Mrs. Santora who took leadership in serving pizza and refreshments and took some candid photos for our chess archives.
