Robert C. Johnson Memorial Team Tournament Results

Forty players on seven teams participated in the Robert C. Johnson 2011 Memorial Team Tournament hosted by Erie PA Chess Club. Robert C. Johnson was from Bemus Point, New York and his friends now host 3rd Annual USCF rated Team Tournament that bears is name. Buffalo Thundering Herd was the 2010 Team Champions and in the first year of the tournament Team Bradford were the 2009 Team Champions.

The Team results are as follows, 2011 Team Champions - Chautauqua with 10 pts, Second Place with 9 points was Buffalo "B" Team, 3rd Place - Bradford with 8pts, 4th Place - Shenango with 7.5 pts, 5th Place - Buffalo "A" Team with 7pts, 6th Place - Southtowns with 6pts and North East Erie, PA with 4.5pts.

Buffalo had 10 players and Team Captain Robert Simpson was asked to split the teams. Members from Buffalo were Captain Robert Simpson(1428), Barry Davis(2172), Marijan Procyk(2047), Douglas Dubose(2023), Harish Srinivasan(1953), Samuel Santora(1262), Brian Sayers(1302), Vic Bahl(964), Justin Craddock(1542) and Mc Duffie(1219), Chess Ambassador. Buffalo B Team members were Captain Robert Simpson, Esq., finished with 2.5 pts, Marijan Procyk with 2.5 pts, Vic Bahl with 1pt, Harish Srinivasan with 2 pts and Mc Duffie with 2 pts,Chess Ambassador, Buffalo A Team members were lead by Barry Davis with 2 pts, Douglas Dubose with 2.5 pts, Samuel Santora with 1.5 pts, Justin Craddock 1/2 pts and Brian Sayers with 2pts. Both Open and U1600 Section Champions won with 3pts.

Save The DATE - Saturday, November 19, 2011, for the 2011 - 2012 Winter Chess Season, every third Saturday at the Main Place Mall, Upper Level, 390 Main Street, Buffalo, NY. The format is 4 games, Swiss, USCF rated, Game 50. Advance registration is greatly appreciated with online registration by the midnight on wednesday before each tournament.
