NATIONAL CHESS MONTH GRAND PRIX 2010

Hosted and presented by Garnell W. Whitfield Jr., Buffalo Fire Commissioner in conjunction with The Archangel 8 Chess Academy to promote National Chess Month.

Saturday, October 16, 2010 in the Main Place Mall, Upper Level, 390 Main Street, Buffalo, NY. Free Parking under the Mall, Food Court Open during tournament play.

This is a US Chess Federation Open rated tournament. Four rounds, Swiss, Game 60 50. All players are required to bring chess set, chess board and chess clock. US Chess Federation membership required! All tournament players are required to be paid and checked in no later than 9:30am. Games start at 9:45am, 11:30am, 1:15pm and 3pm.

PIZZA AND REFRESHMENTS PROVIDED FOR ALL PAID TOURNAMENT PLAYERS!

Advance discount entry fee $25 vs $35 Cash only at the door will be provided if reply to arcangel8chess@yahoo.com no later than midnight, Friday, October 15, 2010. Please include full name, USCF Id number and section of play.

Two Sections: Open and U1500. Guaranteed Cash Prizes: Open $120, $80 and U1900 $75.00, U1500 Cash Prizes: $60 and $50.

STAR SCHOLASTIC SECTION:Entry Fee $15.00, New Schedule, Games will start at 11am, Noon, 1pm and 2pm. Five rounds,(No elimination)Swiss, Game 30, with Trophies awarded to the top four players.

Future Grand Prix Tournaments will be every Third Saturday of each month. November 20th and December 18th, 2010. Tell a Friend! Bring a Friend!

    Is it game 60 or game 50? If its G/60 then, the start of round timings dont fit.

    Hopefully Michael can refresh our memory, since its been a few months since last Main Place Grand Prix, but I thought it was G45 (5s), which delay can be standard or Bronstein.
