The this is a free event to help promote National Chess Day at the Buffalo and Erie County Main Libray on Sunday, October 9, 2011. Scholastic chess players must understand and recognize "Check" and "Checkmate" to participate. Limited Chess sets and boards are available. Please bring your chess set and board. United States Chess Federation rules are enforced ie."Touch move".
Advance and Online registrations will be accepted by friday, September 1, 2011 at midnight with full name, grade, school and telephone with reply to arcangel8chess@yahoo.com. All players will be paired to play others in their same grades.
Scholastic players must report to the Community Meeting room no later than 12:30pm and will play three to five games, Swiss, Game 25. Games will start promptly at 1pm until 5pm.
