ASHTON'S FIRST NATIONAL K-6 SCHOLASTIC CHAMPIONSHIPS

First let me say, there is a chess article on Ashton in the Amherst Bee and its out at the libraries. The 2012 USCF National Scholastic K-6 Elementary Championships has 646 chess teams representing 39 states, in the K-3 Under 800 section has 378 players from 40 states.

Ashton is rated 357 and finished his first day in Nashville, TN listed 235 out of 378, with one lost to another 1st grader with a rating of 691 from Michigan, who is now in 32nd place and finished the day with a win against a third grader from Michigan rated 757. The saturday schedule has Ashton listed at playing three games today. The round 3 pairings are up and has Ashton playing another 3rd grade player from Michigan, listed 149 with a 619 rating.
