US CIVIL WAR CHESS TOURNAMENT 2013

Hosted by Buffalo Fire Commissioner, Garnell W. Whitfield Jr. and The Archangel 8 Chess Academy, an official affiliate of the US Chess Federation. Celebrating over 13 years of Enrichment Youth Chess in the Buffalo and Niagara Falls region.

PIZZA AND REFRESHMENTS WILL BE PROVIDED FOR ALL PAID TOURNAMENT PLAYERS! Players are asked to wear RED, White or Blue TShirts to make this a colourful and festive occasion!

FORMAT: USCF Membership is REQUIRED! TWO SECTIONS: OPEN and U1500!

Four games, No elimination, Game 50 with 5 second delay, USCF Dual Rated! Players should bring a chess set, chess board, digital chess clock and write algebraic chess notations.

ADVANCE Registrations are greatly appreciated by Midnight on Thursday, July 18, 2013 with full name, USCF number, Section and telephone by email to Knightsof64@yahoo.com.

OPEN Entry Fee is $25 or $30 Cash at the door! U1500 Entry Fee is $15 or $20 Cash at the door!

CASH PRIZES are based on 18 paid players in each section. OPEN CASH PRIZES are $200 - $100 - $60, U1500 CASH PRIZES are $120 - $60 - $30.

GAMES: All players are to report by 9am, Games start at 9:30am, 11:30am, 1:15pm and 3pm. One Half point Bye is available with request.

SAVE THE DATE: AUGUST TOURNAMENT - DAVID W. MC DUFFIE MEMORIAL CHESS CLASSIC 2013, will be on Saturday, August 24, 2013, the date was changed to correspond with his actual date of death, Friday, August 24, 2012.
