Mark Clark wins in Sardinia

Mark Clark made the trip from Jamestown and won the Sardinia tournament last Saturday.  Mark had no trouble, winning all 3 games he played.  Pat Patterson and Nathan Palmisano tied for 2nd.
Anderson Miles (left in picture) won the scholastic section in a close battle with Matt Shantz.  Ethen Warner, Sidney Reed, Garett Rumfola, and Sydney Dzernanowski also participated.
In the unrated section Jacob Wind, from Clarence NY, won all of his games to take the trophy. Gretchen Rumfola, Samantha Palmisano, Donna Richardson, and Chris Hewitt from Batavia also played.
Next month, Dec 7th, is the date for the Western New York Scholastic Championships (formerly the USA Jr chess Olympics) at the Pioneer High School. Lets see if we can get over 100 kids there this year!  Good luck to the teams going to the Bob Johnson Memorial tournament in Pennsylvania. Pioneer's team will be playing in Tony Cirillo's tournament at Buffalo Seminary.
