The Amateur Chess Association of WNY in affiliation with The Archangel 8 Chess Academy announces the 2014 TREE DOCTOR INTERNATIONAL CHESS TOURNAMENT! The TREE DOCTOR is a Clarence based company who has Guaranteed $4,000.00 Prize Money with 40 Grand Prix Points. Please check your Chess Life Magazine Grand Prix Tournament detailed listing! COMPLIMENTARY FOOD AND REFRESHMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON BOTH DAYS BY The TREE DOCTOR Staff employees.
The format will be a two day, FIDE and USCF sanctioned chess tournament, Five Games, Game duration - Game 120 with a 5 second delay. ONLY Two sections of play - OPEN and U1800.
PLACE: OLD FIRST WARD COMMUNITY CENTER, 62 REPUBLIC STREET, BUFFALO NY 14204
TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE: Games on Saturday, June 7th will start at 10am, 2:30pm and 7pm. Games on Sunday, June 8th will start at 10am and 2:30pm. Byes are available for Games 1, 2, 3 and 4 and must be requested prior to Game 2.
OPEN and U1800 Section Fees are $50.00 USD, CASH ONLY at the door.
OPEN SECTION Guaranteed Cash Prizes are $1000 - $750 - and $500. U1800 SECTION Guaranteed Cash Prizes are $750 - $500 and $300. USCF MEMBERSHIPS are required and can join at the door, Cash Only! All Chess players are required to bring a Chess set, chess board and digital chess clock. None provided!
