HALLOWEEN USCF FREE TOURNAMENT

Hosted by the Buffalo and Erie County Central Library and The Archangel 8 Chess Academy. Buffalo Central Library in the Fables Cafe, located at 1 Lafayette Court, Buffalo, New York on Sunday, October 30, 2011, registration starts at Noon, Games start promptly at 12:30pm until 4:30pm.

Scholastic players are strongly encouraged to wear their Halloween Costumes and/or Face paint for this special occassion.

Three sections of play are USCF OPEN, SPOOKY SCHOLASTICS and Unrated Sections.

The tournament format will be 3 to 4 games, USCF rated, Swiss, Game 30 with a 5 sec delay. This is a FREE Special Event to Celebrate National Chess Month at the Buffalo Central Library. Please bring your chess set, board and digital chess clock if available, LIMITED! Chess sets and boards will be available.

USCF OPEN section players must be a current USCF member or join at site to play in the USCF section.

This is the third and last chance to invite other chess players who want to play in a formal tournament. Unrated and Scholastic players are not required to be USCF members. Adults will play Adults and Scholastics will play Scholastics.

The West Room will be available for the Halloween guest to relax and enjoy the Buffalo Bills on Television.

Pictured are the Fall Session Chess Players from Lockport Knights Chess Club which meets every Monday Nights from 6pm until 8pm at the Lockport Youth Center, 401 Willow at the corner of Transit Rd and Willow. The Fall session ends on November 21, 2011. Guest Scholastic Chess players must bring chess sets and boards, all the chess sets and boards are being used by current members and we have added an extra table.
