KLCC AUGUST GRAND PRIX RESULTS

The Senator Antoine M Thompson U1600 Section was very competitive and went down to the last match. August Trophy Champion is Attorney James P. Davis while 2nd Place had a three way tie between David S. Miller, Ryan Madden, and Steve Baer.

Upsets: Round 3 Vic Bahl defeated Ryan Palmisano for 87 points; Round 4 James P. Davis defeated David S. Miller for 147 points, and Steve Baer defeated Erik Lubas for 74 points.

The Open Grand Prix Section had its share of upsets as well. August's Undefeated Champion was Rev. Marijan Procyk, 2nd Place Vance Williams, and a three way tie for 3rd place including NM Lionel L Davis, Michael A. Mc Duffie, Harish Srinivan and Thomas A Warner.

Upsets: in Round 2 Marijan Procyk defeated Vance Williams for 23 points, Harish Srinivan defeated Albert Patterson for 23 points; in Round 3 Marijan Procyk continued his winnings by defeating National Master Lionel L Davis for 153 points; Round 4 Vance Williams drew with Davis for 65 points, and our Upset point winner was Michael A Mc Duffie defeating Albert W. Patterson for a whopping 841 points.!

Missing in action were Douglas Dubose, NM Barry Davis, IM Kenneth Regan, IM Brian Hartmann, Neal Goldberg, Michael Hillery, Mark Clark and Mark Johnson. With these added players we would have had a total of 15 players- a few more from the Rochester Chess Center and Syracuse Open and we are over the 20 player participation goal in the open section.

We hope all is well with their summer fun and we look forward to their return at the CAN/AM August International Festival, Kenmore Community Center, 135 Wilber Avenue, Kenmore NY on Saturday August 23 and August 24th this weekend.

    Small correction. I didn't win over
    Ryan (Mad Dog) Madden in round 3
    but rather Ryan Palmisano.
