BUFFALO GOLDEN KNIGHTS TEAM EARNS 4TH PLACE

The Buffalo Golden Knights Travel Chess team participated in the 5th Annual India Community Scholastic Championship in Macedon, New York on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012.

The five members were lead by Partho Bhattarcharya, Chinmayi Krishnan, Arnav Roy Patra, Benjamin Rummell, and Ashton William participated in a 24 player Scholastic Championship earning 4th Place Team finish in the 3rd - 5th grade section.

The 5th Annual India Community Scholastic K-2 Scholastic 2012 Champion was awarded to Ashton William, first grader and member of the Stars of India Chess Club defeated the two time winning K-2 2011 Champion and the 5th Annual India Community Scholastic 2012 Champion in the 9-12 section was Partho Bhattacharya.

USCF membership is not required and their are several upcoming scholastic chess tournaments in Rochester, Geneva and the New York State USCF Scholastic Championships in Saratoga Springs, NY.

I want to thank all the parents who took time to drive their child to play in the tournament. A special thanks to each of the players for their collective efforts by representing the Buffalo Scholastic Chess community.
