APRIL CHESS CHALLENGE - GAME 50

Hosted by Buffalo Fire Commissioner, Garnell W. Whitfield, Jr. and The Archangel 8 Chess Academy, a local community affiliate with the US Chess Federation, the governing body of Chess in the United States of America, celebrating 12 years of Educational Enrichment Youth Chess Programs.

This is a USCF dual rated chess tournament. All USCF players are required to bring a chess set, chess board and digital chess clock. US Chess Federation membership is required.

Saturday, April 21, 2012, Main Place Mall, Upper Level, 390 Main St, Buffalo, NY 14201, FREE Parking under the Mall! Food Court and Gift Shops open during tournament play.

Advance registrations are greatly appreciated! NEW Lower advance entry fee is $15 or $25 Cash at the door! Advance online registrations are accepted by midnight, Friday, April 20th, with reply to arcangel8chess@yahoo.com with full name, USCF number, section and telephone number. Checks are mailed and made payable to The Archangel 8 Chess Academy, 60F Guilford Lane, Buffalo, NY 14221 by Wednesday, April 18th, 2012. All others must pay Cash at the door!

Format will be four games, no elimination, Game 50 with a 5 second delay, USCF rated. PIZZA and Refreshments are provided for all paid tournament players.

Three tournament sections; OPEN, U1500 and Scholastic K-12. Scholastics will play 4 games, Game 30 with 5 second delay, USCF rated with a minimum of 4 players. Trophies will be awarded to the Top 5 players.

OPEN & U1500 CASH Prizes based on 22 players will be as follows; OPEN Cash Prizes are $$75, $60 & $40, U1500 Cash prizes; $75, $35, & $15.

Come out and help wish the Bishop Timon Team and Coach Bowers, a "Bon Yoyage" on their way to USCF 2012 Scholastic National Championships in Minneapolis, MN. The Bishop Timon team finished 2nd at the 45th Annual Scholastic State Chess Championships in Saratoga Springs, NY in March 2012.
