The 2nd Annual H. Mc Carthy Gipson Grand Prix featuring NM Lionel L. Davis of Buffalo, NY, will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the Upper Level of The Main Place Mall, 390 Main St. Buffalo, NY 14201. It is a USCF 10 point (enhanced) Grand Prix Event, in Four Rounds using Swiss System pairings. Game/45 with rounds at 9:45am, 11:30am, 1:15pm and 3pm.
Four Sections:
- Open Grand Prix, Guaranteed Prize Money, $250, $150 and U1900 $120. Entry fee $30 or $50 onsite.
- U1450 David Evans, Jr. Memorial Section, Entry fee $25 or $35 onsite, Cash prizes based on 15 entries, $150, $100 and $60.
- Law Enforcement:Unrated, Entry fee $25.00, based upon 15 entries, 1st Place $150, $100 and $60.
- Middle & High School Scholastics, Five rounds, Game 30, Entry fee $10.00, Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place winners. Rounds start at 10am, 11am, Noon, 1pm and 2pm.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Victims Fund of Flight #3407. Donations will also be accepted.
