Foxwoods as Seen Through Monroi

First two questions? 1. How to put this post in separate window? 2. Is it legal to post this link? If not I apologize and we need to delete it.
Look especially at quick 9th round game: Ivanov-Charbonneau (15 moves)
GM Shulman won this event and more can be found at http://www.foxwoodsopen.com/

  1. I changed it to open in new window. you need to edit the html to add this tag

    target="_blank"
    you can check the post html source to see how it is now. There might be ohter easy ways but i do not know.

    The game was nice. I think after 9.Bg5, black should have played ...e6 to stop Nd5.

  5. Thanks for this posting Marijan.

    Amazing that a GM could be busted in 15 moves in a Sicilian! I think had Charbonneau played 10...0-0 he would be fine.

    More amazing to me though, is that during the final game of this most prestigious and lucrative event, (some could argue the second biggest annual event of the year in the US), the two final players play on a cheap roll up board with inexpensive plastic pieces! [Click on the youtube video on the first page of the foxwoods website.]

    This is ridiculous and says a lot about the state of chess here. Could neither the casino, nor CCA, provide a better board and set? I understand that maybe a DGT board would be considered inappropriate given MonRoi had the broadcasting rights. But wouldn't you think the players and spectators deserve better than what was set up? I also loved the yellow shirted fat guy moving about in the back ground too!
