Many of you may not be aware of this wonderful online tool to search for chess events around the region, state and nation. It is available at http://www.uschess.org/directories/tnmtsearch/
This is the tool that alerted me to a number of recently scheduled events in our area including the one I just posted below.
Not only can you do a search by type of tournament, cost, prize fund, distance to where you live, ect., it also can send you email alerts for recently added events, many of which are not published in the Chess Life TLA section.
